Neuroscience Center

Patients suffering from stroke, brain injuries and neurological disorders may benefit from highly specialized treatment provided in Alvarado Hospital's neurosurgical unit and at the adjacent rehabilitation hospital (Alvarado Hospital Medical Center / SDRI).

Skilled neurosurgeons, neurologists and physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation work collaboratively with nurses trained to assess neurological functions on an around-the-clock basis. Services available include MRI and SPECT imaging, microsurgery capabilities and comprehensive rehabilitation, offered through Alvarado Hospital Medical Center/SDRI.

Movement Disorders Program
The Movement Disorders Program is designed to meet the medical, surgical and rehabilitation needs of patients with essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and other movement disorders. The involuntary motor activity associated with these conditions can become increasingly disabling, prohibiting patients from performing routine tasks of daily living. Utilizing new medicines and advanced surgical procedures, our program strives to return patients with movement disorders to a more active and productive lifestyle.

For more information please call the Neuroscience Center at 619/287-7661.
